This collection consists of one item arranged in the following series: 1. Military record, Civil War, 1864-1865. This certificate of service documents the service record of Alfred White. White was a private in Company B, First Regiment, 102nd U.S. Colored Infantry. His dates of service extended from the 24th of Aug., 1864 through the 29th of Aug, 1865. He joined the regiment at Beaufort, South Carolina (Oct. 14, 1864) and mustered out at Charston, South Carolina (Sept. 30, 1865. The certificate was issued March 1, 1912, and signed by Roy C. Vandercook, Adjutant General for the state of Michigan.
